SUV crashes into Arlington eatery

ARLINGTON Ben Getachew said he had just passed J.R. Bentley's Food and Spirits, 406 W. Abram St., but figured he could make a quick turn into the driveway.

Instead, he turned into the front of the building. The green Isuzu Rodeo that Getachew, 22, was driving knocked down the brick encasement around the bar and grill's garden and pushed the front of the building back about a foot. Bentley's will be closed until the building can be certified safe for occupancy, police said.

No injuries were reported, and no citations were issued.

Greg Puklicz, 45, who purchased the bar and grill in early March, said: "We'll fix it and get back to business as soon as we can. We were planning to do some renovations anyway."
